Your future responsibilities

  • Building up a new Research Unit focusing on System simulation and modelling and x-in-the-loop (XIL) testing of electronic based systems
  • Multi-physics simulation and creation of multi-domain models for electronic based systems
  • Virtual prototyping
  • Models for digital twin and system simulation, optimization and validation of the models
  • Virtual prototyping and XIL testing (HW-, SW-, Model-in-the-loop)
  • Leading the team towards the creation of scientific excellence and economic impact
  • Shaping the research program and project portfolio together with the Division Head and peers
  • Budget and resource planning and controling of research unit
  • Setting up and managing of research project together with different industrial and scientific partners
  • Responsible for network interfacing and interdisciplinary software development as for software defined networking
  • Definition and leading of cooperative research projects in the field of system simulation

Your profile

  • PhD degree in applied physics, electrical engineering, microengineering or related fields with a specialisation in multi-physics and/or multi-domain simulation
  • Having at least 4 years of experience in simulation and modelling or a post-doc with a very good scientific publication list
  • Expert user of multi-domain simulations software (Ansys (incl. Twin Builder), Comsol, Matlab/Simulink, …)
  • Experience with model-based design (MBD)
  • Experience with building “Virtual prototypes”
  • Experience with multi-physics simulation
  • Experience with porting multi-domain blocks
  • Strong programming ability with Python, Matlab, or similar language
  • Statistical modelling and mathematical background
  • Multi-year experice in planning and execution of research and development projects with scientific targets
  • Good knowledge on applications of electronic based systems
  • Project management skills
  • Autonomous, well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic and multi-cultural team
  • Innovative and keen on finding solutions for applied research challenges
  • Oral and written communication skills in English

  • Begin­ning of the employ­ment: as soon as possible
  • This posi­tion is endowed with a gross annual salary of € 85.000,- based on the collec­tive agree­ment for re­search („Forschungs-Kollek­tiv­ver­trag“) and depen­ding on your expe­ri­ence and skills.
