Your future responsibilities

As a member of our development team:

You will be working on a Linux environment. The priorities are process automation, up-time, robustness and optimization of the system.
You will be involved all aspects of system administration including maintenance, system design and implementation with the aim of improving the current setup and developing new services and features.
You will support the team in all relevant services as well as basic IT-relevant issues, especially
  • Instal­la­tion, confi­gu­ra­tion, moni­to­ring and manage­ment of company-wide Linux system infra­struc­ture (incl. NAS and GPU-based HPC systems)
  • Colla­bo­rate with other teams and team members to develop auto­ma­tion stra­te­gies and deploy­ment processes
  • Tech­nical support of key-users during instal­la­tion of re­search soft­ware (Cadence, Ansys, Matlab, Keysight ADS, etc.), supporting soft­ware, mana­ging license servers and daily busi­ness

Your profile

  • Previous working expe­ri­ence as a Linux Admi­nis­trator
  • Preferred educa­tion Uni/​FH with Elec­tro­nics focus or HTL with at least 5 years of expe­ri­ence
  • Fami­li­a­rity with server virtua­liza­tion and NAS&SAN manage­ment and concepts
  • Expert in Shell, Perl, and/​or Python scrip­ting
  • Solid know­ledge of proto­cols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, Kerberos, SMTP, certi­fi­cates and SNMP
  • Strong problem solving and commu­ni­ca­tion skills
  • Sound Linux and network knowledge with experience in the areas
  • Linux server administration (ZFS, NFS, Postfix, Debian-Packages, Backup)
  • Network configuration and security
  • Automated server setup and software deployment
  • Virtualization (Xen, Docker, Kubernetes...)
  • Monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana)

The following knowledge is an advantage
  • Programming knowledge in Python
  • Experience with Gitlab, and Cisco products
  • Fami­liar with container solu­tions, such as Docker
  • Fami­liar with server virtua­liza­tion, such as Xen / KVM

  • This posi­tion is endowed with a gross annual salary of € 56.000 based on the collec­tive agree­ment for re­search („Forschungs-Kollek­tiv­ver­trag”) and depen­ding on your expe­ri­ence and skills.
